Tom Burney is the founder and Executive Chef of Invisible Kitchen catering company- with the aim of being Hong Kong’s greenest and most customer-focused catering company. He has also worked as a private chef (including for celebrities Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga, Chris Hemsworth & Keanu Reeves).
Tom spent 10 years cooking in France and the UK before moving to HK and now focusses on bringing the ethos and quality of the world’s best kitchens to the Hong Kong world of western catering in an environmentally-conscious way.
Invisible Kitchen’s ‘Green Policy’ is setting the standard for the F&B industry in Hong Kong by using 100% sustainable seafood; filtering and carbonating water inhouse & growing herbs & tomatoes for their kitchen as well as ‘basics’ such as supporting local organic farms, using sustainable packaging etc.
Invisible Kitchen have organically grown to become Hong Kong’s leading caterer for Green Weddings, cocktail events, corporate events & bespoke events and this year were selected by the Volvo ocean race to look after more than 2000 VIP guests for the Hk leg of the global event with the highest environmental and sustainability standards. They only use sustainable seafood and their menus are “WWF Ocean-Friendly” approved.
Tom is committed to use his position to not only help spread the word about sustainability issues but to be a driving force behind real change in the HK F&B scene.
